New retail coffee house requiring all associated painting on soffits, walls, and doors. This project also includes furnishing and installing a lime wash finish on multiple walls, which is a faux finish presenting a plaster look whos color is meant to change as it ages.

How we did it

  1. Prime the new drywall

The new drywall walls were primed ahead of the wall tile and FRP going in.

  2. Paint the ceilings and light cove

The new gypsum board ceilings were painted white, and the ceiling at the light cove was painted in its own specified colour.

  3. Paint the new door and frame

The new door and its frame were painted. On the customer side, the bathroom door and frame and the electrical box covers got a satin enamel in the specified colour.

  4. Make a lime wash mock-up

Before the real walls, we made a lime wash mock-up on a level 5 drywall board and a column for approval.

  5. Prepare the level 5 walls

The walls to get lime wash were sanded to a smooth level 5 finish, damage was patched and sanded, and the patches were spot primed.

  6. Prime and basecoat the lime wash walls

The walls were primed and basecoated before the lime wash went on.

  7. Brush on the lime wash

Two brushed coats of lime wash gave the walls their soft plaster look. It started on the north and south walls and was extended to the other walls and the column at the sales counter.
