Schipper Construction renovated the gorilla exhibit at the Santa Barbara Zoo, adding ponds, rockwork, deadfall trees and new landscaping and turning the existing viewing area into a viewing cave. Purple Painting painted the inside of the viewing cave, working time and materials for Schipper Construction.
Drywall damaged by water was cut out and repaired, and holes left by wiring and lights were patched. The walls and ceiling were skim coated, sanded and primed, then painted with two coats in the colours the Zoo chose: a green eggshell on the walls, including the wall areas above the glass, and black in flat on the ceiling. We also painted the window trim frames, primed an exterior metal door and frame with an epoxy primer and topcoated it with polyurethane, and primed and painted the entry gates black in semi-gloss.
