    cabinet under the window

A new custom home on the Mesa in Santa Barbara, built by Jed Hirsch General Building Contractor, has a built-in cabinet of drawers and doors under the mudroom window. It was first contracted as paint grade, and was finished in a custom wood stain instead, in the sample the designer approved.

We sanded the cabinet, stained it and sealed it in clear. The mudroom's bench and bottom cubbies got the same stain, and are shown with the painted cabinet towers on their own page.

How we did it

  1. Mask and sand

The room was taped and papered, and the cabinet was sanded for stain.

  2. Apply the custom wood stain

The cabinet was finished in the custom wood stain the designer approved.
