Hairline settling cracks had opened across the stucco on the side-wall corner tower of a two-storey Santa Barbara home, running above the windows and down beside the back door. Rather than repaint the whole house, the scope covered that one wall.

We patched and sealed the cracks with a flexible, elastomeric compound so the repair can move with the wall, spot primed the patches, and then painted the whole wall in two finish coats, corner to corner, to keep a consistent finish against the existing adjacent paint.

How we did it

  1. Patch and seal the cracks

The hairline settling cracks in the stucco were patched and sealed with a flexible, elastomeric compound for better crack resistance.

  2. Spot prime

The patched areas were spot primed.

  3. Paint two finish coats

The side wall got two finish coats over the existing stucco, corner to corner, to match the adjacent paint.
