Interior Repaint With Ceiling Texture Removal

A Santa Barbara home was painted inside before it was staged for sale, for the realtor Paige Harvey of Compass. We removed the acoustic ceilings, skim coated them in a cat's paw texture, sanded and primed, then painted the ceilings, the walls, the windows and frames, and the doors and frames off white, matched to the existing ceilings that were left alone.

The paint was flat on the common and bedroom walls and the ceilings, and satin on the trim, doors, and the bath and kitchen walls and ceilings. Existing oil-based trim got a hybrid enamel to ensure adhesion, and the baseboards were painted the same colour as the walls. The grasscloth wallpaper stayed throughout, the stained wood front windows were left alone, and the floors were covered and protected. On the staircase we removed the handles, patched the holes and spot primed before painting. A change order added the downstairs and the stairwell walls, primed where the paint was in poor condition and finished in two coats.
