Purple Painting repainted the exterior of the Marshalls store in downtown Santa Barbara, for National Maintenance & Build Out Company. The scope covered the stucco walls up to 10 feet, the stucco planter boxes, the wrought iron railings and two hollow metal doors, all painted to match the existing colours.
We pressure washed the walls, masked everything not being painted, patched damaged stucco and caulked open cracks and joints, then spot primed the patches. The stucco got two coats of exterior flat paint. The railings were sanded and patched, bare rusted metal was spot primed, and the railings were painted black with an industrial coating. The hollow metal doors got two coats of exterior satin to match the walls.
How we did it
-
Pressure wash and mask
The walls were pressure washed and all debris cleared, then everything not being painted was masked and floors covered.
-
Patch the stucco and caulk
Damaged stucco was patched and open cracks and joints caulked.
-
Spot prime the patches
Every patch was spot primed with a multi-purpose ProBlock primer.
-
Paint the stucco
All the stucco up to 10 feet got two coats of exterior flat, matched to the existing colour, planter boxes included.
-
Prepare and prime the metal
The metal doors and railings were sanded and patched with filler where needed, and bare rusted metal was spot primed with a rust-inhibiting primer.
-
Paint the railings and doors
The wrought iron railings got two coats of black enamel, and the two hollow metal doors two coats of satin to match the body colour.
-
Clean up
All masking was removed and any overspray or drips cleaned off the ground.
