A two-stage renovation at Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital, painted for the general contractor ProWest Constructors. The hospital stayed in operation, so our crew worked in phases and move-ons across Level 1 and Level 2, around the flooring contractor and the hospital's live operations, under its infection-control and life-safety policies. The patient rooms got accent walls against the white, and their ceilings were painted.

The scope covered the gypsum board walls and ceilings, new and existing hollow metal doors, frames and window frames, exposed steel columns and the temporary walls, with epoxy where specified and a caulk line where each new frame meets its wall. On Level 2 we worked through the patient wing's corridors, patient rooms, therapy rooms, offices and closets, and touched up the columns, walls and existing steel beams of the outdoor patio. On Level 1 the work included the exterior of the wound care entry.

We finished with a clean close-out: every crash rail, wall guard, metal baseboard and bed stopper caulked, ceilings touched up, and two-coat touch-up finals in the corridors. The exterior got masking and primer.

  5. Caulk rails, guards and baseboards

Crash rails, wall guards, metal baseboards and bed stoppers were caulked where they meet the painted wall.
