Purple Painting gave the clubhouse at Blue Skies Mobile Home Park a full exterior refurbishment, covering both the wood and the metal. We pressure washed every exterior surface with a mildewcide cleaner, let it dry, then patched, sanded and spot primed before painting.
The board-and-batten siding, fascia boards, gable trim and beams were finished in two coats of exterior acrylic, and the wood doors in two coats of an industrial acrylic. The metal doors and frames, louver grills, posts and handrails were sanded, primed with a red oxide rust-preventative primer and finished in two coats of an industrial urethane.
The wood soffits over the clubhouse walkway and the carport were cleaned, sanded to open the grain and stained.
How we did it
-
Pressure wash with mildewcide
Every exterior surface was pressure washed to remove dirt, mildew, algae and loose paint, with a mildewcide cleaner on areas of heavy mildew, then left to dry completely.
-
Patch, sand and prime the wood
Damaged siding and trim were patched with wood filler, sanded and spot primed on bare wood with an oil primer. Screws and nails were pulled from the fascia and gable trim and the holes patched.
-
Paint the siding, fascia and beams
The board-and-batten siding, fascia boards, gable trim and wood beams got two coats to match the existing colours.
-
Paint the wood doors
The wood doors and frames were patched, sanded and spot primed, then finished in two coats of acrylic enamel.
-
Prime and paint the metal
Metal doors and frames, louver grills, posts and handrails were sanded to remove loose paint, primed with a red oxide rust-preventative primer and finished in two coats of urethane enamel.
-
Stain the wood soffits
The tongue-and-groove soffits over the walkway and carport were cleaned and sanded to open the wood grain, then given one coat of semi-transparent or semi-solid stain.
