Purple Painting removed the wallpaper, skim coated and primed the walls, converted the dark panelling to paint and repainted the interior of a Goleta house for the realtor Kathy Strand Spieler.

A Goleta house being prepared for sale was painted throughout the interior for the realtor Kathy Strand Spieler of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties, with a light refresh outside. The old wallpaper came off everywhere, and the walls were skim coated, sanded and primed. The dark wood panelling in the living room, the oil-based trim and the veneer doors were primed with shellac, sanded and caulked so they could be painted, and the primary bathroom walls were primed with shellac and skim coated.
The acoustic ceilings were patched and sprayed with two coats of flat paint, the doors and trim were sprayed in satin, and the walls then got two coats. Outside, we pressure washed lightly and painted the fascia boards and a section of the eaves. The kitchen cabinets and the garage interior were not part of the job.
How we did it

Mask and protect
All the items and floors that were not being painted were masked and protected.

Remove the wallpaper
The wallpaper came off everywhere, and the walls were then skim coated, sanded and primed.

Convert the panelling, trim and doors
The living room panels, the oil-based trim and the wood veneer doors were converted to paint: primed with shellac, sanded and caulked.

Primary bathroom walls
The primary bathroom walls were primed with shellac, skim coated, sanded and primed.

Patch and spray the ceilings
The acoustic ceilings were patched as needed and sprayed with two coats of interior flat paint.

Spray the trim and doors
The interior trim and doors were sprayed with two coats of interior satin paint.

Paint the walls
Two coats on the walls everywhere, in velvet in the living areas, bedrooms and hallway, and satin in the kitchen and bathrooms.

Pressure wash the exterior
A light pressure wash of the outside of the house.

Paint the eaves and fascia
A section of the eaves was prepared and painted, along with all of the fascia board.

Clean up
All the masking and tape came off, and the dust and debris were cleaned up, inside and out.
