Purple Painting repainted the Wells Fargo branch in Goleta, inside and out, as part of the bank’s branch refurbishment led by the general contractor Octane Design, LLC.
Inside, we primed and painted the gypsum board walls and ceilings, the doors and frames, and details such as the monitor blocks and wood slats, with the interior work done at night. Outside, we painted the stucco, stone and concrete walls, the soffits, the metal siding, the decorative wood trusses and columns, and the storefront windows, doors and railings.
The approved paint schedule used an interior latex on the walls and ceilings, a separate colour on the accent walls, and exterior acrylic and industrial coatings in white and black outside. The branch also has Wolf Gordon and Carnegie wallcoverings that we hung; that work has its own page.
This page shows the branch before the work. Photos of the finished branch will be added.
How we did it
-
Work after hours
The interior was painted at night, at premium rates.
-
Prime
Interior drywall was primed with PVA primer and the wallcovering walls and wood doors with a stain-blocking primer. Outside, masonry, wood and the metal storefront each got their own primer.
-
Paint the interior walls and ceilings
Walls were painted in eggshell and ceilings in flat, with an accent colour on the accent walls. Change orders added the lobby walls and the drywall soffits repaired at the teller line.
-
Paint the doors and details
The wood doors were painted in a urethane semi-gloss, and the monitor blocks, wood slats and ceiling datum line were painted to the colour schedule.
-
Repaint the exterior
The stucco, stone, concrete, soffits, wood trusses and columns, metal siding, downspouts and awnings were painted, with the fascia, windows, storefront doors and railings in black and the bollards in safety yellow.
