Purple Painting repainted 18 apartment entry doors at Tropicana Gardens, a student housing community in Isla Vista. Nine of the doors are on the second and third floors, and the doors face south, east and west. The doors were sanded to scuff the old finish, patched where they were damaged, spot primed and finished in two coats, in the existing colours and sheens. Each door carries a leaf decal, so we masked around it or cut a clean line to leave it untouched.
How we did it
-
Scuff sand the doors
Each of the apartment entry doors was scuff sanded to dull the old finish.
-
Patch the damage
Damaged spots on the doors were patched as needed.
-
Spot prime
Patched and bare spots were spot primed.
-
Finish in two coats
Each door got two coats in the existing colour and sheen, masking around the leaf decal or cutting a clean line so it stayed untouched.
