A big backyard deck with a view, worn down by sun and damp creek-side mornings, for a repeat client. We pressure washed and sanded the deck, stairs and railings, spot primed any bare wood and brought the deck back with a solid colour stain, colour-matched to the original. The railings and spindles got satin enamel, and the lattice a recoat.

The two steel canopy posts were treated with a rust-inhibiting primer and a fresh black finish. Because the mornings were damp, the crew started after 10 each day to let the wood dry first.

How we did it

We pressure washed the deck and railing surfaces before any prep.
